The Dixie Shits live up to name

"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessity for patriotism," Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. "Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country…I don't see why people care about patriotism."

Natalie Maines may think she's being cool saying such things, and no doubt a lot of waterheads will still buy their music. But how about all those tour dates they had to cancel lately because of poor ticket sale? If "the entire country disagrees" with your position, and you rely on the country for a living, what good are you doing expressing it?

Those fickle anti-establishment types won't keep the Shits Chicks going forever. They will wind up a dusty little footnote in history, right where they belong.
